Carrier DX System
Carrier DX System
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Carrier DX system is a conventional direct-expansion air conditioning / heat pump solution where refrigerant is directly circulated between the outdoor condensing (or compressor) unit and the indoor units.
How It Works
- The outdoor unit compresses and condenses refrigerant, sending it through pipes to one or more indoor units.
- Indoor units expand the refrigerant, absorb heat (cooling mode) or release heat (heating mode), and deliver conditioned air to the room.
- After the cycle, refrigerant returns to the outdoor unit to repeat the process.
Main Components
- Outdoor condensing / compressor units (air-cooled or water-cooled)
- Indoor units (cassette, ducted, high-wall, under-ceiling, portable types)
- DX coils / air-handling units kits to interface with larger ventilation systems.
- Controls & regulation units (e.g. DX-Controller) for monitoring and operation.
Key Features & Benefits
- Simplicity & direct refrigerant path — fewer stages (refrigerant directly does the work).
- Flexibility in indoor unit types — you can choose the style (cassette, ducted, high-wall, etc.) that fits each room.
- DX kits for integration — Carrier offers kits to connect DX systems to larger AHU (air-handling units), making it possible to combine DX with more central ventilation systems.
- Wide capacity range — from small indoor units to larger commercial systems.
- Good for retrofit or modular setups — easy to add or replace indoor units.
When to Use DX Systems
- In residential or light to mid-size commercial buildings that don’t require full ducted central chillers.
- Where zoning or multiple indoor units are needed.
- Where you want direct control over each indoor space.
Request a Custom Design & Quote
Because every building and usage scenario differs, we recommend clients submit:
- Floor plans or layout drawings
- Type of rooms / zones and their sizes
- Desired usage (cooling, heating, ventilation)
We will then design and specify the appropriate Carrier DX system for your building — selecting matching indoor/outdoor units, control strategies, and wiring — and provide a reliable quotation.
